Adamax 984 Da is a vendor-marketed derivative of the Russian nootropic heptapeptide Semax in which an adamantane cage group has been attached to the peptide, with the figure 984 Da referring to the approximate molecular weight of this particular variant as listed by sellers. Adamantane, the rigid tricyclic hydrocarbon found in memantine and amantadine, is a recognised medicinal-chemistry strategy for increasing lipophilicity and resistance to enzymatic degradation.
